Owned manufacturing decisions and PPAP qualifications for Proteus Gen2 autonomous mobile robot across casting, injection molding, and electromechanical assembly suppliers in N. America and APAC regions.
Wesley Fletcher
I'm an engineering leader with over a decade of experience bringing complex products through production — from organ care medical devices to autonomous mobile robots.
My core competency is in manufacturing engineering, but I've enjoyed experiences bridging operations, NPI, and component design. I thrive working on complex electromechanical products in collaborative, challenge-rich environments.
In my spare time I'm an avid outdoorsman, and am passionate about exploring the overlap between technology and nature.
Experience
-
May 2025 — Present
Advanced Manufacturing Engineer at Amazon Robotics, N. Reading MA
Owned supplier manufacturing strategy and qualification for Proteus Gen2 autonomous mobile robot. Led sustaining cost-reduction efforts for Hercules drive units. Served as the primary technical interface between Supply Chain, Hardware Engineering, and AR suppliers.
-
Jan 2019 — May 2025
Manufacturing Engineering Manager at TransMedics, Inc., Andover MA
Progressed from Process Quality Engineer through Sr. Manufacturing Engineer to Engineering Manager over six years. As manager, led four direct reports through a 10× production scale-up of OCS Consoles, my team drove a 44% reduction in component defects, implemented automated PCB test equipment for a 10× throughput gain, and led MES discovery and early implementation.
-
May 2015 — Dec 2018
Manufacturing Quality Engineer at ARCH Medical Solutions, Seabrook NH
Validated metrology equipment, heat treatment lines, and passivation processes. Developed processes for new products, including QC steps throughout machining processes and a for an implantable leaf spring through extrusion, coiling, EDM, polishing, and functional testing.

Projects
Professional projects
Took three fluidic components — stopcock manifold, tubing router, and valve retainer — from design through sourcing, validation, and production integration on the OCS Perfusion Module.
Led discovery and early implementation of MES for OCS Console manufacturing, evaluating platform fit and standing up initial production workflows.
Applied 6S principles to redesign the production floor layout, and drove strategic procurement decisions and supplier process improvements to achieve a 10× YoY capacity increase.
